Olympic riders join the heroes parade through London this morning

  • Team GB eventers and paralympians are among the athletes taking part in a victory parade through London this morning, starting at Mansion House in the City at 11am.

Individual bronze medallist eventers Tina Cook (right) and her fellow team bronze winner Sharon Hunt are joined by Paralympians — Sophie Christiansen, Felicity Coultard, Anne Dunham, Simon Laurens and Lee Pearson for the parade in central London, which is expected to attract thousands of spectators.

The Heroes Parade is led by Britain’s all-conquering Olympic cycling team.

The Paralympic equestrian team won an enormous haul of medals — team gold, four individual golds medals and five silver.

The final members of the Olympic eventing team — William Fox-Pitt, Daisy Dick and Mary King — and Paralympic individual Debbie Criddle were unable to attend the parade.

A spokesman for the British Olympic Association said they were delighted the equestrian team members were able to join the parade.
