Applications for tickets to the 2012 Olympic Games closed last night and the cross-country phase of the eventing competition is among the first five sports sessions to have been announced as a sell-out.
The organisers LOCOG announced today that the cross-country, along with track cycling, rhythmic gymnastics, the modern pentathlon and the triathlon, are the first sports to sell all the tickets, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.
LOCOG chairman Sebastian Coe said: “We are thrilled with the response across the board. Certain events have seen massive demand so there will understandably be disappointment and we will find a way to go back to these people with other tickets.”
