Northern Ireland couple gets trailer back a year after it was stolen

  • A Northern Ireland couple have been reunited with their horsebox a year after it was stolen from their home.

Alan and Mandy Warke’s Ifor Williams trailer was taken by thieves last January and they had given up all hope of ever seeing it again.

But a phone call from police just before Christmas, 12 months later, means the Londonderry couple now have their box back.

Mr Warke said: “It was the best Christmas present we could have got. I can’t be more thankful to the police for the work they’ve done.”

He said the couple had worked hard to save the money to buy the trailer.

“We only had it four or five months. When it was stolen, it was an absolute kick in the teeth,” he added.

“For 11 months, Mandy has had to miss out on going to shows.”
