Caroline Powell settles into new Suffolk yard

  • Caroline Powell has moved her team of 14 horses to Suffolk and will operate from her owner Richard Ames’ yard in Newmarket.

The New Zealand team rider moved south from the Scottish Borders last year, with intentions of reducing her string. She had been based temporarily at Catherine Burrell’s Maizey Manor Farm near Marlborough, Wilts, since November 2012.

“Richard’s offer will give me more scope, as my original plan to downsize really did not seem to be happening,” said Caroline.

“Retiring Lenamore officially at Badminton was in some ways the end of an era, but I am looking forward to the start of a new one.”
