No venue for European Championships

  • A new venue is sought for the 2015 endurance European Championships following the withdrawal of Denmark, as a result of FEI concerns about funding arrangements.

Peter Christiansen, of the Association Molsridtet, had expectations for Arab-sourced sponsorship. However, this fell through when the FEI reiterated last autumn the European Championships were no longer “open” — bringing endurance in line with other disciplines.

Mr Christiansen said he was still showing a budget surplus, and that confusion resulted from the FEI alerting the Danish Equestrian Federation, rather than the ride organiser, to its misunderstanding about the event’s revised status.
