New Pembrokeshire Horsewatch scheme launched

  • A new Horsewatch scheme is being set up in Pembrokeshire to fight equine-related crime.

The Dyfed-Powys Police Horsewatch group is offering free engraving of identification codes on trailers and saddle stirrup bars and code stamping onto all leatherwork such as bridles.

These codes are then registered with the police and in the case of theft enable you to prove ownership of an item.

If you decide to sell any item then the code is transferred to the new owner.

The police force also recommends that horseowners photograph their items to help combat theft.
