Equine America has released a new range including shampoo, spray and cream to protect horses’s legs from fungus and bacteria.
The new Fungatrol products are designed to counter the effects of rain and mud on legs.
“The Fungatrol Range, with its powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal ingredients, will protect and condition your horses skin, coat and hooves all year round, combining potent ingredients with a gentle action for amazing results,” said a company spokesman.
Fungatrol cream can be applied after washing, once scabs are removed and the area is thorough dried, to form a waterproof barrier to protect and condition the skin, costing £6.99 for a 150ml tub and £16.89 for 450ml.
The Fungatrol hoof dressing (£9.99) conditions the hoof and encourages healthy growth, while allowing the foot to breathe and absorb water naturally while Fungatrol spray (£13.76) is a “leave on” water-based spray containing anti-fungal and anti-bacterial ingredients with added coat conditioners.
Fungatrol shampoo (£11) can be used to wash the whole horse or individual areas, protecting the skin from bacteria and fungus. For best results, leave on for 20 minutes before rinsing.
And finally Fungatrol leather soap (£14.99) contains anti-fungal and anti-bacterial agents to reduce germs passed from one horse to the other via tack and also stops mould from building up when tack is unused.
