Memorial for Dorothy Cook to be held at Hickstead


  • A memorial service is to be held at Hickstead showground later this month for a long-serving official, Dorothy Cook.

    A founder member of the West End Riding Club, Mrs Cook of Burgess Hill, West Sussex, died earlier this year after suffering a stroke. She was 86.

    Mrs Cook was involved with setting up the club in 1972 and served as secretary, chairman and president until her death.

    She served as an official at Hickstead for more than 30 years, as well as being a stalwart supporter of local Riding for the Disabled Association groups.

    The Hickstead memorial will be on 28 September. All are welcome, tel: 01323 811460.
