Mary King takes test to see who’s the best sporting all-rounder

  • Event rider Mary King, along with other sporting Volkswagen Ambassadors, has completed a series of competitions to find out who is the best sporting all-rounder.

Competing against Mary included Olympic rowing champion Steve Williams, World Cup winner and Rugby Union star Andy Gomarsall, championship cricketer Chris Adams and part of Britain’s top Tornado sailing crew Will Howden and Leigh McMillan.

The competition took place on Tuesday 9th September at The West London Shooting School in Middlesex. Each sporting Ambassador had a team of three other members of the media or Volkswagen guests.

The tasks included reversing a 4×4 with a horsebox, clay shooting, Kwik cricket, ergo tests and fly-casting.

Mary clearly had the upper hand reversing the trailer like a pro and at the end of the day her team came away with third place with the sailors coming in first.

The winning team received a number of prizes that included a cheque for their chosen charity.
