Former director-general of the British Equestrian Federation (BEF) Major Malcolm Wallace has joined Polytrack supplier Martin Collins Enterprises (MCE) as director of racing affairs.
Maj Wallace said: “Over the years, be it in racing or equestrian sports, as a rider or administrator, horse welfare has always been my priority. I am really pleased therefore to be joining the team that has produced a first class British product that is very good news for horses.”
His distinguished career spans 19 years in the Army, latterly as Commanding Officer of the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, during which time he competed at Badminton and rode under Rules as an amateur.
Major Wallace headed the BEF from 1985 to 1994, and acted as a team manager at four Olympic Games and two World Equestrian Games. In 1994 he became one of the Jockey Club’s executive directors.
He will continue as chairman of HPower, the company that organises Royal Windsor Horse Show, the Windsor Castle Royal Tattoo, the London International Horse Show (Olympia) and the 2009 European Dressage and Show Jumping Championships, and as chairman of Burghley Horse Trials
