Lambourn yard given the all-clear from strangles

  • Lambourn racehorse trainer Stan Moore is back in action after his yard has been given the all-clear from strangles.

Yesterday (Monday 26 October) Mr Moore was given permission from the British Horseracing Authority and Jockey Club Estates to use the gallops in Lambourn.

Mr Moore’s Berkley House Stables was temporarily closed to prevent the spread strangles after a yearling filly who came over from Ireland at the beginning of the month tested positive for the highly contagious disease on 14 October.

Last week (21 October) tests on the horses all came back negative.

A statement on the trainer’s website read: “Once again, our latest set of blood tests have come back clear today. This has meant that we have finally been given permission to get out onto the gallops. We had the horses out for a very steady canter up the short all-weather and we will soon be back on track, with the horses getting back into full work.”
