Ladies’ day at Hickstead’s Royal International

  • The Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead is to hold the first Ladies’ Day in its 49-year history, in aid of St Peter & St James Hospice at nearby North Chailey.

Hickstead Ladies’ Day will be Saturday, 25 July and although there will be no official standards set for the day, ladies are being encouraged to “dress to impress.”

“This will give our visitors the perfect excuse to dress up, and all for a good cause,” said Catherine May, who is in charge of sponsorship.

A committee, under the leadership of Gill Cronin, head of fundraising at St Peter & St James Hospice, will tour the show ground during the day to find the three best-dressed ladies, who will then be invited into the International Arena where the committee will make a final choice.

The winner will receive a weekend break for two at a hotel anywhere in the UK, courtesy of Incentevents Ltd.

“We are thrilled and delighted that such a big organisation as Hickstead is interested in our work,” said Gill. “We will do everything we can to make the day a success.”
