Jessica Kurten’s ban must stay, rules Court of Arbitration for Sport

  • Show jumper Jessica Kurten is still banned from competing, the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) has announced today.

Jessica had hoped the two-month ban meted out to her by the FEI in May would be lifted while she appealed it to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Jessica was given the ban — and a hefty fine — by the FEI following the discovery of a prohibited substance, etoricoxib, in her horse’s system during a competition in France last year.

But today, after consultation with the FEI, the CAS has announced the ban will remain in place while it considers the case.

Jessica Kurten is therefore suspended from competing now for two months — starting from 7 June finishing on 6 August.

H&H is waiting for a statement from the rider.
