International polo returns to London later this month for a celebration of Argentina’s sporting and cultural heritage at the O2 Arena.
On 21 March Argentinean restaurant Gaucho will host “The HPA Gaucho International Polo” – an evening of arena polo, live music and wine tasting.
Scotland will take on Ireland followed by the highly contested England versus Argentina match.
Grammy award winning band Bajofondo will play throughout the tournament and Wines of Argentina will offer some of the country’s finest produce for tasting.
“[We] are delighted to be working with the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) to create an annual international polo match at the O2,” said Gaucho’s Martin Williams.
“I hope that it will grow to rival the success of the former HPA Cartier international polo.”
“Gaucho International Polo” was launched in 2011 and this year “The White Jeans Party” will add a charitable twist.
For every guest who arrives in a pair of white jeans, a pound will be donated to the British Forces Foundation.
Arena polo takes place on a smaller pitch than usual with three rather than four players, creating a fast-paced and spectator friendly sport.
Doors will open at 5.30pm, the polo will start at 7.15pm and the after-party will begin at 9.45pm.
Tickets start at £20.
