ILPH field offer receives RSPCA award

  • Ted Barnes, the Surrey, East and West Sussex field officer for the International League for the Protection of Horses (ILPH), has received an RSPCA award for his outstanding contribution to animal welfare.

Ted, a former policeman, has worked for the ILPH for 10 years. He was presented with the Lord Erskine Award at the RSPCA AGM on 30 June.

“I was surprised and delighted,” said Ted. “I do a job I’m paid for, but I genuinely really enjoy what I do.

“I work very closely with the RSPCA because I have the equestrian background and infrastructure to assist with rescues and it has the ability to prosecute. It works very well.”
