Horse Trust chief executive Paul Jepson to retire in July

  • Equine welfare charity The Horse Trust is looking for a new chief executive. Current head of the organisation, Paul Jepson, will retire at the end of July after 13 years in the post.

Adverts went out this week in national press and on this website, for a new chief to: “develop further the charity’s profile, resources and impact on equine welfare issues”.

Brig Jepson told H&H that he will continue much of his work — in particular with exotic diseases and the equine health and welfare strategy.

I will be staying on in a consultancy basis, but am looking forward to spending more time at home in the New Forest,” he said.

Brig Jepson said his abiding memory from his time at The Horse Trust will be “experiencing first-hand the unprecedented level of wanton neglect at Spindles Farm” — followed by rehabilitating the equines that were rescued.
