Horse put down and rider injured at Asian Games


  • A horse has been put down at the Asian Games in China.

    D252 ridden by Kazakhstani athlete Galina Dolgushina was euthanased following an accident during the modern pentathlon event yesterday (23 November).

    The horse reportedly crashed through a jump during the women’s showjumping competition and broke its neck.

    Ms Dolgushina, 29, was knocked unconcious and taken to hospital where she is reported to be in a stable condition.

    Kazakhstan secured team bronze behind China, with Korea in silver.

    Chinese pentathlete Mihao Yihau won individual gold.
