Horse owners asked to send in photos to break world record

  • Horse owners around the world have been offered the chance to share their equine photos, and attempt to break a world record at the same time.

Pet owners can upload their photos on Petplan Insurance’s National Petrait Gallery — www.petraitgallery.co.uk.

And as well as celebrating Britain as a nation of animal lovers, Petplan also wants to break a Guinness World Record by creating the largest pet photo exhibition in the world.

In order to break the current record Petplan needs to collect and print in excess of 138,355 photos.

The record is currently held by the people of tyneside for the photos from the Great North half marathon in 2006.

Alison Andrew, Petplan Equine’s marketing manager said: “We wanted to find a unique way to capture how strongly people feel about their animals.”

Users can upload photos and manage their own pet album, as well as viewing the entire gallery.

A range of personalised merchandise from mugs to T-shirts is also available and 10 per cent of all profits will be donated to the Petplan Charitable Trust.

    NB: Use of professional photos

Please note that no professional photos should be submitted to the gallery without the approval of the copyright owner. The purchase of a professional photo at a show or similar does not automatically give the pruchaser the rights to “publish” the photo online or use it to create personal merchandise. If you are unsure whether you own the copyright of a professional photograph please contact the company you purchased the photo from.
