Horse narrowly escapes death in stable as gales hit Britain

  • Gales brought down a large bough onto the stable of one Suffolk horse-owner this morning (10 March), narrowly missing her mare.

Foxy Formula, owned by Lucy Cameron, was in the stable block at Bury St Edmunds with two other horses when the branch fell through the roof, demolishing the front of the stable and pinning the horse in.

“Luckily she was stood at the back of the stable, but if she had been fed a few minutes earlier she would have been at her manger which is by the door,” said Lucy.

“We had to call the vet to sedate her before we could get her out of the stable,” she added.
