Horse dies in stable fire in Reading


  • A horse has died after a stable in Reading caught fire.

    The stable on Lockram Lane, Wokefield burst into flames at 5.55am on Saturday morning (20 March).

    Three firecrews attended the blaze in the 10m by 5m stable and put it out using a hose reel and hydrant. The fire was extinguished by 7.30am.

    One horse died in the blaze, while another escaped into a paddock.

    Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue told H&H the cause of fire is currently under investigation.
