Horse beaten in tack theft

  • The owner of a horse who was beaten by thieves while attempting to break into the tack room via his stable is appealing for information leading to the recovery of various stolen saddles.

Ballydor was in his stable at Sunbury Riding School, Middlesex, when thieves broke in and beat him. He was left severely traumatised and is suffering from a suspected fractured pelvis amongst his injuries.

“I am devastated that anyone would do this. Ballydor will have to be kept on absolute box rest for the next month before any further treatment can be considered,” said owner, Kathy Still.

Everything in the tack room was taken as well as tools from another room. Most of the tack is security marked with the postcode TW16 6AS. Unfortunately two new Balance saddles had not yet been marked.

Anyone with any information should contact Sunbury Riding School or Ballydor’s owner Kathy Still (tel: 07714 326218).
