Horse and carriage accident claim lost at court

  • A passenger in a horse and trap accident has lost her case for compensation.

Sally Bodley of Newbury suffered severe head injuries when she was thrown from a carriage driven by her friend Gillian May Hall on a Berkshire road on 24 November 2005.

But on 9 August in the High Court, the judge ruled that as an experienced horsewoman Mrs Bodey had “fully appreciated” the risk.

Mrs Hall had denied liability for the accident, which took place when the horse was spooked.
