Funding given for research into African Horse Sickness midge

  • Researchers at the Institute for Animal Health in Pirbright, Surrey, have been awarded £680,000 to sequence and study the DNA of a biting midge that is responsible for spreading diseases, including African Horse Sickness (AHS).

Scientists hope this grant from the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council will lead to new ways to control and prevent AHS.
