Free racing at Cheltenham for Australians on New Year’s Day

  • Cheltenham racecourse is offering free entry to Australians on New Year’s Day as a gesture of “goodwill” after their trouncing in The Ashes.

“To ease the pain for Australians at the failure of their cricket team to win back the Ashes, we are offering them a free ticket for racing on New Year’s Day,” said a spokesman for the racecourse.

To receive a free ticket, Australians must bring a valid Australian passport to the ticket desk at the Hall of Fame entrance on 1 January.
