Frankie Dettori is now the retained rider for rising Qatari owner Sheikh Joaan Al Thani.
The jockey split with Godolphin in October after 18 years riding for Sheikh Mohammed’s operation.
Frankie announced he was going freelance and looking for “a new challenge”.
And on Sunday (30 June) at Chantilly racecourse the Italian jockey signed his new contract.
Sheikh Joaan, who owns the Haras de Bouquetot Stud Farm in Normandy has top horses including Group One winner Olympic Glory and French 2000 Guineas winner Style Vendome.
He also owns Toronado, runner up to Dawn Approach in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Ascot last month, partnered by Richard Hughes. Richard will keep the ride for the Sussex Stakes later this month (31 July) at Goodwood.
