Former League Against Cruel Sports spin doctor jailed

  • The former head of communications for the League Against Cruel Sports (LACS), Steve Taylor, has been sentenced to 16 months in prison – after admitting stealing more than £14,000 from the anti-hunting charity.

Taylor, aged 36 of Saltash, Cornwall, was sentenced at a hearing at Guildford Crown Court today (7 September).

Prosecuting, Nicholas Bull, told the court that between 2 January 2010 and and 29 October 2011, Taylor used his LACS credit card more than 300 times for his personal use.

The court heard that Taylor had previous convictions for dishonesty and had served 12 months in jail for deception and forgery.

There will be more on this story in the next issue of H&H, out on 13 September
