FEI president joins International Olympic Committee

  • The global profile of equestrianism is set for a boost this summer when Princess Haya becomes a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

A former Olympic show jumper, Princess Haya has been president of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) since 2006. She is one of four new IOC members — two of them women — bringing the total number of people on the IOC to 115.

Her appointment will be rubber stamped at the IOC’s annual meeting in Guatemala City in July.
