Farewell to Joan Richards — stalwart of the showing scene

  • Joan Richards founder of Caronjoy Show, Hamps, and previously Ascot Horse Show, died on Thursday 8 April after a fight with cancer.

Her funeral will take place on Tuesday 20 April at Guildford Crematorium at 10.30am.

All are welcome, but no flowers — donations to Cancer Research are invited.

Joan along with her sister Carol ran their popular April shows for more than 20 years, giving novice horses the opportunity to have an early start to their season.

Established competitors such as Guy Landau and Jeff Osbourne began their showing career at these early shows.
