Farewell to British Equine Veterinary Association founder member John Nicol


  • The funeral of John Nicol, a founder member and past president of the British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA), took place on 16 May in Guildford, Surrey.

    John died on 21 April. He was 87 and had been suffering from a brain tumour.

    He was president of BEVA from 1973-74 and latterly became interested in veterinary acupuncture.

    He was widely acknowledged as an expert in the field and continued to practise acupuncture long after retiring fromgeneral practice.

    He leaves his wife Margaret and two daughters, Helen and Janet.
