Bored of the tube? Disillusioned by the daily commute? Well, you could always travel to work in style in a unicorn-drawn carriage this week instead.
On tomorrow and Friday mornings (27 and 28 October) workers can book a free ride through the streets of London in a white and rainbow-coloured conveyance.
The “unicabs” will operate for the rest of this week, each big enough to seat four people, and drawn by unicorns with rainbow-coloured manes, striped horns and rather fetching pink and purple hoofs.
Michelle Clarke, from Shoreditch, London, tried out one of the carriages on their first day of operation today (Wednesday).
She said: “I usually get the tube to work but this morning I hopped on a unicorn parked outside my usual tube station.
“It was definitely an experience I won’t forget in a hurry, even if I did get a few strange looks!”
The stunt has been set up by Three mobile to celebrate the launch of a new handset, one of which will be on offer for passengers to try out in each cab.
A spokesman said: “The streets of London are receiving a touch of magic much to the surprise of early morning commuters.
“As part of the #MagicTogether campaign, ‘unicorns’ are taking busy workers to their offices and morning meetings, offering free rides to cheer up down-in-the-dumps Londoners as the dark mornings draw in.”
