Equine wormer survey: horse owners invited to take part

  • Researchers are asking horse owners to take part in a national online survey on equine wormers.

The survey is into resistance against wormers in horses and is being conducted by scientists at the Veterinary Epidemiological and Economics Research Unit at the University of Reading.

Studies have previously found that current ways of controlling intestinal parasites are not sustainable, due to an increased resistance to pharmaceutical wormers.

The survey aims to find the main patterns of equine wormer use and use them to better understand the development of resistant strains of worms to control them.
