Emily Baldwin wins her first FEI World Cup event

  • British event rider Emily Baldwin has won her first ever FEI World Cup event.

Emily won the inaugural Haras du Pin CIC*** in France on Drivetime last week (18-22 August).

During the competition, 29-year-old Emily and the14-year-old Dutch bred horse by Zuidhorn led the dressage.

The pair slipped to fourth after a handful of time penalties in the cross-country phase before regaining top spot after a clear found in the showjumping.

She finished just 2.2 penalties ahead of Karin Donckers on Lamicell Charizard. French rider Nicolas Touzaint finished third on Tatchou.

“I’m absolutely thrilled,” said Emily. “It’s my biggest win to date. I have won a CIC*** before, but not an HSBC FEI World Cup event. My horse is quite a character in the stable yard anyway, and now he will be very pleased with himself!”

Emily and Drivetime will now head to Pau CCI**** in November.
