Eccles sisters victorious at vaulting international in Holland


  • Sisters Joanne and Hannah Eccles returned triumphant from the International Equestrian Vaulting competition in Holland with a win in the senior and junior classes on the same horse.

    Joanne, 19, won the CVI** on WH Bentley, known as Henry, and Hannah, 16, did the same in the CVI* at the show held in Ermelo on 25-27 April.

    The sisters, from Tillicoultry in Scotland, are members of the Wee Country Vaulters team and have taken part in the sport for 10 years.

    Runner-up in the CVI* class was Lucy Phillips of the Solihull Diamond Vaulters and in fourth place was Louise Sinclair.

    Scottish team Eagles Vaulting won the CVI* team.

    Joanne and Hannah now have their sights on British team places for the World Championship in the Czech Republic in July.
