Has the meteoric rise of eventing’s brightest young star Jock Paget come to an abrupt halt?
Last week the eventing world was shocked and disappointed to learn that this year’s Badminton and Burghley winner, Clifton Promise, failed a dope test after winning his second four-star of the year.
Both Clifton Promise, the winning ride of New Zealand’s Jock Paget, and Clifton Pinot — ridden by his long-term mentor, Australia’s Kevin McNab — tested positive for the banned sedative reserpine.
In today’s Horse & Hound magazine (Thursday 24 October), we speak to vets to find out more about the drug reserpine and what’s next for Jock. Don’t miss it.
