Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro are set to make their first appearance for the British team since the Olympics when they compete in the Nations Cup in Rotterdam later this month.
British Dressage selectors confirmed the team today (Monday 3 June).
Carl Hester and Fine Time IV, Gareth Hughes and DV Stenkjers Nadonna and Daniel Watson with Fideramber will also be competing.
In a post-Olympic interview with H&H, Charlotte said she expected never to compete the now 11-year-old Valegro again. But when the gelding failed to sell by Christmas, she rode him at the FEI World Cup dressage at Olympia, setting a new world grand prix record score of 84.447%.
And last week Roly Luard told H&H: “Valegro is in fantastic shape and we are all looking forward to Charlotte competing him again.”
The CDIO5* Nations Cup competition in Rotterdam, The Netherlands takes place 19-23 June.
“We’re all very excited to be going to Rotterdam,” said World Class dressage programme manager Richard Waygood.
“It is great forBritish dressage that we have top class horses and are able to field two teams [at Rotterdam and Aachen 21 -30 June], which will give more people the chance to compete at this level. It brings with it a wonderful opportunity for them to gain experience at a five-star competition within a team environment”.
