Call for riders to nominate an equestrian volunteer

  • Riders are being urged to nominate equestrian volunteers and helpers for this year’s BBC Sports Unsung Hero award.

The award, which is in its 10th year, recognises individuals who “go the extra mile to help out in local sport”.

Charles Runcie of BBC Sport told H&H: “We would love to receive plenty of nominations from horse sport, as for some reason we don’t get many from the equestrian world.

“I know there are lots of people out there helping to run events and shows for the benefit of thousands of riders.”

Nominations close on 29 October. The winner will be announced at the BBC Sports Personality event in December.
