Brightwells is holding its first-ever sale of Arab racehorses at Ascot later this month
Arab racing enthusiasts have a new opportunity to buy and sell racehorses via Brightwells’ Ascot bloodstock sales, with the first sale of Arabian horses in and out of training taking place on Wednesday 28 August.
The Arab horses will be offered for sale at around 2pm, following the regular sale of thoroughbred horses. A separatecatalogue will be available for the horses in the Arab sale.
The sale has attracted more than 30 lots, including some top quality horses, according to Brightwells bloodstock manager, Andrew Elliot.
“We are delighted with the quality and quantity of entries for this inaugural sale which has been organised in association with of the Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO),” says Andrew.
“We have the support of a number of leading studs and owners, including some top members of the Arab racing fraternity, and expect the sale to grow in size and statue in the future.”
Charlie Corbett, racing manager for the ARO said: “We receive lots of enquiries from people who want to get started in Arabian racing and this sale will make Arabian racehorse ownership much more accessible.
“ARO staff will be on hand during the sale to offer advice on all aspects of this fast growing sport”.
