British vaulters go for gold


  • A squad of four female individual competitors from British Equestrian Vaulting are heading for the European Championships in Saumur, France (6-10 August).

    Twin sisters Elizabeth and Sarah Watson, who have both been unbeaten all season, lead the squad for the third year. They are joined by Ann Rodgerson with Lucy Bell as reserve, and Rosie Howard as non-travelling reserve.

    In the individual male competition, Britain is represented by Philip Beasley and Ricki Davis.

    The Scottish team of Ann Rogerson, Joanne Eccles, Lucy Phillips, Louise Smith, Hannah Eccles, Heidi Johnson, Ruth Morris, Jim Pate and Victoria Mclaren will contest the team event, accompanied by lunger Rebecca Morgan and horse WH Bentley.
