British Riding Clubs chairman Laurie Punett dies aged 61


  • The chairman of British Riding Clubs Laurie Punnett died on Thursday, 23 July after an illness. He was 61.

    Mr Punnett was also chairman of Gower Riding Club in south Wales, where he lived.

    British Horse Society (BHS) chairman Patrick Print said: “Whether it was as a trustee of the BHS, chairman of the BRC NEC or chairman of Gower Riding Club, Laurie’s commitment was total.

    “Hee put his heart into the riding club movement, earning the respect and affection of all those who reaped the benefit.”

    His funeral takes place tomorrow (29 July) at St Michael’s Church, Pontardulais, near Swansea.
