British eventing team chosen for Nations Cup final

  • The team that will represent Britain in the final leg of the FEI Nations Cup Series at Military Boekelo-Enschede, Netherlands this weekend (9-12 October) will be.

    • Sarah Bullimore riding her own and Brett Bullimore’s Lilly Corinne
    • Emilie Chandler riding Sally Williams and Nicola Dickson’s Coopers Law
    • Laura Collett riding Diana Chappell’s Grand Manoevre
    • Gemma Tattersall riding her own and Marcelle Tattersall’s Dinky Inky

The series is run over nine events with the best seven results counting towards the final total.

Heading into the final Team GB is lying in second place 10 points adrift of Germany. With 11 points being awarded to the winning team and points being awarded down to ninth place, Britain look unlikely to recover the deficit. However, a strong performance is still crucial as France is just four points behind in third.

Last year Britain won the series despite fielding a relatively inexperienced squad and Yogi Breisner has stuck to the same strategy this year.

Yogi said: “The primary purpose of campaigning the CICO Nations Cup series is to give riders who have not been regular members of senior championship teams experience of working and competing within a team environment and to get them out competing against the best continental riders.”

Laura Collett, who broke her foot last month, tweeted: “Super excited to have been put on Team GB Nations Cup team.”

Ninety combinations will contest the CCIO3* with dressage starting tomorrow morning (9 October).
