British Dressage changes qualification system for 2011

  • British Dressage (BD) has unveiled a new points-based system for championship qualifications in 2011.

The association says it wishes to put the emphasis on correct training, rather than winning, and says the changes will reward those who consistently gain good marks rather than those winning small classes.

The changes to the rules, which can be found on the BD website, will cover novice restricted, through to advanced medium open levels, but not 2011 music and preliminary classes.

The changes will be reviewed in 12 months’ time when BD plans to introduce a new database system.
