Britain drawn 17th for Olympic eventing competition


  • The British eventers have been drawn 17th of the 22 countries contesting the Olympic competition, which starts on Saturday (28 July).

    Two members of the British eventing team – made up of William Fox-Pitt (Lionheart), Mary King (Imperial Cavalier), Zara Phillips (High Kingdom), Tina Cook (Miner’s Frolic) and Nicola Wilson (Opposition Buzz) – will do their dressage test on one day and the other three on the other.

    It will not be known until tomorrow which riders will ride on Saturday and which on Sunday.

    The full competition order is: Ecuador, USA, Australia, France, South Africa, Poland, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Belarus, Japan, Brazil, Italy, Austria, GB, Sweden, Jamaica, New Zealand, Russia and Thailand.
