Breyer joins sponsorship team for World Games

  • Visitors to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Kentucky next year will be able to take home pint-sized models of competitors in their favourite disciplines.

Top model horse brand Breyer has joined the sponsorship team for WEG (25 September-10 October) in Lexington and will be creating portrait models of key competitors from various disciplines, play sets for children incorporating the sports and other commemorative products.

“Breyer is proud to support the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, where the world’s finest riders and equine athletes will become heroes to the next generation of budding young riders,” said Stephanie Macejko, vice president of marketing at Breyer. “We are looking forward to what will certainly be the highest calibre of competition in all eight disciplines.”

As part of the partnership, Breyer has commissioned sculptor Kathleen Moody to create a sculpture to symbolize the spirit of the horses competing in eight different disciplines.

Known as Esprit, the sculpture, pictured right, will be available in several mediums to commemorate WEG.

There will also be an interactive play area for children, incorporating equine-themed activities using Breyer’s realistic model horses and pint-sized jumps.

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are the world championships of eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), and are held every four years.

The 2010 Games are the first to incorporate all eight international disciplines and the first to be held outside Europe.
