British Dressage (BD) riders who bought advance tickets to Blenheim International Horse Trials will have their money refunded if they due to compete at the Deluxe Dressage National Championships (9-12 September).
The Deluxe Dressage National Championships has been moved forward a week to avoid a visit to Coventry by the Pope. But it now clashes with the popular Oxfordshire horse trials – which also takes place 9-12 September.
Blenheim Palace Horse Trials director Mandy Hervieu said: “British Dressage did advise British Eventing of this as soon as possible. It is unfortunate, but there is an awful lot involved in organising championships and big events and so their options for dates and venues were limited.”
By moving the Deluxe Dressage National Championships, British Dressage hope to avoid the 300,000 people that are expected to converge on Coventry airport to welcome the Catholic leader on Sunday 19 September.
Ms Hervieu continues: “We hope supporters will be able to attend both events at some point in the weekend and have offered to refund dressage championship competitors who have bought advance tickets.”
Dressage Deluxe National Dressage Championship competitors to have already purchased advance tickets can apply for a refund by email to admin1@blenheim-horse.co.uk or call 01993 813335.
