Visitors to BETA International – the world’s leading trade fair for the equestrian, pet products and country clothing sectors – will be treated to a performance from the sell-out stage show, War Horse.
Puppets and stars from the show will play a starring role in the 2012 trade fair. Topthorn, a life-size black stallion puppet and actors will travel from London to give a performance in the Sherwood Forest Arena at the NEC, Birmingham on 20 February 2012.
Topthorn is one of several life-sized puppets that star in the production, which is based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo. The play, originally performed at the National Theatre, is now entertaining audiences in the West End and on Broadway.
Actors working alongside the puppets of the Handspring Puppet Company bring the story to life. Steven Spielberg’s film version is released in the UK on 13 January.
Claire Thomas, commercial manager of BETA International organiser, Equestrian Management Consultants (EMC) said she was “thrilled” that War Horse was coming to the trade fair.
“It has inspired and entertained audiences both in the West End and on Broadway and we are very pleased that our visitors and exhibitors will have the opportunity to sample some of this enchanting tale.”
BETA International takes place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 19 to 21 February 2012.
