The world number 1 showjumper Ben Maher was honoured at the British Showjumping (BS) awards ball last Tuesday (8, October), taking home a hat-trick of trophies.
The European individual silver medallist was voted riders’ rider of the year, members’ personality of the year and he and Jane Clark’s mare Cella were voted international combination of the year.
The other big winner was the Bunn family, whose All England Jumping Course won the members’ show venue of the year and the Longines Royal International Horse Show was declared members’ show of the year.
An emotional tribute was paid to Michael Mac, who was presented with the BS award for his services to the sport.
