Australia’s high performance manager for equestrianism resigns

  • Australia’s high performance manager for equestrianism, Brett Mace, has resigned after seven years in the job — following a review of Olympic selection procedures and results.

Australia did not win a medal in any of the three equestrian disciplines at London 2012.

The review, by the Australian Sports Commission, included the issue of Hayley Beresford, who was left off the dressage team despite qualifying scores among the top three.

Appeals filed by Ms Beresford to the Australian federation and the Court of Arbitration for Sport were both dismissed.

An appeal against the Australian Olympic eventing team was also dismissed by the Australian federation. But it is not known which rider or riders protested.
