The Eccles family have celebrated their second successful weekend running, after sisters Joanne and Hannah returned victorious from a vaulting competition in Belgium (28-30 May).
The sisters won the pas de deux class — a new championship class comprising of two rounds of freestyle.
This was the first time the girls competed internationally in this class and finished ahead of Esther and Cyndy Sneekes from the Netherlands.
Joanne and Hannah now have high hopes for the pairs championships which is being held in Austria in August, for which they have already been selected.
European champion Joanne also won the inaugural CVI**Neeroeteren.
Simone Wiegele and Antje Hil from Germany finished second and third. Antje had to fight for her place in third spot against Joanne’s sister Hannah, who eventually finished fourth.
Both Joanne and Hannah competed on their regular horse WH Bentley lunged by their father John Eccles.
