Animal Health Trust offers free equine influenza tests

  • The Animal Health Trust (AHT) is offering free testing for equine influenza to vets in a bid to ensure the London 2012 Olympics are not marred by an outbreak of the virus.

There was an outbreak at the Nations Cup show at La Baule, France, on 12 May. Two horses tested positive for equine flu and another four were tested.

Thanks to funding from the Horserace Betting Levy Board, the AHT will provide nose and throat swabbing equipment and free lab testing for the infection to vets between now and July.
