Treat your horse to an equine “spa day” this Christmas

  • The College of West Anglia’s Equine Therapy Centre is opening its doors this Christmas to treat local horses to a “spa day”.

The centre, based in Milton, Cambridge, offers facilities including a solarium, treadmill and spa and treatments such as ice therapy and massage. Horses can receive sessions in the spa or get on the treadmill and livery can be offered for up to five days.

Up until now the specialist equipment has “purely been used to deliver the very best care for its [the college’s] own horses and education for the students”.

Leanne Brook Harley, 22, who is taking charge said: “The centre has been opened because we have fantastic facilities which will help to benefit a wide range of horses.

“We are a college and want to educate people as much as we can, so opening the ETC to the public will expand their knowledge and help keep their horses sound or treat their horses with lameness.”

Prices start at around £50 for the first session — there will be special offers available — and there are later reductions.

Leanne is preparing Christmas gift vouchers that owners can give their horses on the big day.

For more information email horse@col-westanglia.ac.uk or call 01223 860701. Additionally there will be an open evening at the Equine Therapy Centre from 5–8pm on 14 January 2013.
